Artist Roo Dhissou hosts Gurmat Sangeet Academy for a live music set that activates Heal, Home, Hmmm.
Experience live kirtan and short introductions to Sikh string instruments, the Dilruba, Taus, Esraj, Sarangi and the Tabla and Jori, through demonstrations, stories and shared listening. Gurmat Sangeet Academy is a community school of Sikh sacred music, guided by Dr Harjinder Singh Lallie.
Today’s performance features Ustad Surjeet Singh, a UK‑based Sarangi player.A student of Pundit Ram Narayan Ji, the first internationally successful sarangi player, he has also been trained in Dilruba by Ustad Gurdev Singh and the late Ustad Harbhajan Singh Ji.
